Faithful in Grace. Faithful in Judgment.
God is faithful in grace and in judgment. We rejoice that God keeps His promises, gives good gifts, calls us into fellowship with His Son, and never changes. But the same unchanging God who is faithful in grace is also faithful in judgment. Deuteronomy 7:10 warns that God "will not be slack." Malachi 3:6 declares, "I am the LORD, I change not." Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." James 1:17 tells us that with God there is "no variableness, neither shadow of turning." And 1 Corinthians 1:9 gives the foundation: "God is faithful." God does not change with the culture. He does not bend His truth to fit our preferences. He does not forget His promises. And He does not forget His warnings. Grace and judgment are not contradictions in the character of God. The same faithful God brings both. Pastor Ed Decker preaches from Deuteronomy 7:10 and 1 Corinthians 1:9, with Malachi 3:6, Hebrews 13:8, and James 1:17.
