S2 Ep47: Sister Cathy, The Redacted Truths – MKUltra's Children

In the wake of the profound and unsettling revelations of the previous episode, this episode finds Shane poring over a document that pulls back the curtain on the chilling practices of the CIA's MKUltra program. This week, Shane brings to light a redacted CIA document from 1951, detailing experiments on two young girls—a stark reminder of the program's reach and the innocence it consumed.

With a solemn warning for the potentially triggering content ahead, Shane reads excerpts that describe the manipulation of these children into a trance-like state, with the grim objective of achieving complete amnesia post-experimentation. This procedure, devoid of any sexual context within the document itself, nonetheless hints at the violation of mind and body, a subject that bears heavy on the soul, especially for those who have endured similar traumas.

This episode is an essential piece of the intricate puzzle that is Sister Cathy's story and the broader narrative of abuse and power. It is a painful but necessary confrontation with the past, providing irrefutable evidence of the extent to which institutions have gone to wield control over the vulnerable.

For those moved by the broadcast, Shane and Gemma extend an invitation to join the ongoing conversation and find support at itsfoulplay.com.
