Cy: Roedd yn fore glâs a di-alw am hynny yng Nghw-minffordd.
En: It was a crisp, unexpected morning in Cw-minffordd.
Cy: Ger Cwrt Ewen, lle roedd y golau dyddiol yn lliwio'r Iâ wlyb, roedd Carys a Dafydd yn cerdded i'r chwarel.
En: Near Cwrt Ewen, where the daily light colored the wet ice, Carys and Dafydd were walking to the quarry.
Cy: Roedd hi'n Ddydd San Ffolant, diwrnod arbennig i'r ddau o'r plant, am eu traddodiad blynyddol o ymweld â'r chwarel lle byddai eu tad, erbyn hyn wedi marw, yn eu harwain i gael picnic cyhyd ag y maent yn cofio.
En: It was Valentine's Day, a special day for the two children, due to their annual tradition of visiting the quarry where their father, now deceased, would lead them for a picnic for as long as they can remember.
Cy: "Mae'r rhew yn gwneud y chwarel yn edrych fel wlad hud," meddai Carys, gan fflyrtio â'r icicles oedd yn hongian dros y garreg felen.
En: "The frost makes the quarry look like a magical land," said Carys, flirting with the icicles that hung over the yellow stone.
Cy: Nid oedd y brawd a'r chwaer wedi dod yma heb deimlo'r gwres yn eu calonnau.
En: The brother and sister never came here without feeling warmth in their hearts.
Cy: Roedd y chwarel wastad yn lle arbennig iddyn nhw, gan beri iddynt deimlo cysylltiad ag eu tad.
En: The quarry was always a special place for them, making them feel connected to their father.
Cy: “A wnei di fethu â’r dywediadau di-ben-draw o’r lle?” gofynnodd Dafydd wrth aros un ochr iddo.
En: “Will you miss the endless sayings of this place?” asked Dafydd, standing beside her.
Cy: Roedd wedi sylwi ar y straen ar ei hwyneb, y tyndra yn ei llais.
En: He noticed the strain on her face, the tension in her voice.
Cy: Roedd yn wynebu cam mawr yn ei bywyd, un na fyddai ei deulu efallai yn deall.
En: He was facing a major step in his life, one his family might not understand.
Cy: Roedd Dafydd yn meddwl ei bod hi am siarad, fel petaent yn dibynnu arno estyn y geiriau.
En: Dafydd thought she wanted to talk, as if they depended on him to find the words.
Cy: “Mae gen i beth i’w ddweud wrthot ti, Dafydd,” atebodd Carys, ei llais yn carmelu.
En: “I have something to tell you, Dafydd,” replied Carys, her voice softening.
Cy: Roedd y gwynt oer yn buwch, ond nid oedd yn medru chwalu'r twymyn a dreiddiodd i lawr drwy ei chalon.
En: The cold wind was biting, but it couldn't shake the warmth that permeated her heart.
Cy: “Dw i eisiau gadael, ffeindio’r llwyth arall.
En: “I want to leave, find the other tribe.
Cy: Gweithio dramor.”
En: Work abroad.”
Cy: Dawodd Dafydd am eiliad, yn pwyso ar ddarn o slab llechi mawr a defnynniog.
En: Dafydd paused for a moment, leaning on a large, dripping slate slab.
Cy: “Onid mae llond llaw o fwlybis gan ein teulu?
En: “Isn't our family full of busybodies?
Cy: Dydi Mam ddim...dydi hi ddim mynd i’w throsglwyddo.”
En: Mam isn't... she's not going to let it pass.”
Cy: Cydymdeimlai Carys, ganddi ofn yr ansicrwydd yn llygaid ei frawd, ond teimlai bod arni ofyn y gwir hon.
En: Carys sympathized, fearing the uncertainty in her brother's eyes, but felt she had to speak the truth.
Cy: “Dylen ni byw ein breuddwydion, Dafydd.
En: “We should live our dreams, Dafydd.
Cy: Dylen ni fynd â nhw ein hunain.
En: We should pursue them ourselves.
Cy: Dw i'n teimlo...
