Story Transcript:
Sl: V sepične jesenske popoldne, ko so listi nežno padali na tla in ustvarjali šelesteči tapison, se Mateja, radovedna medicinska sestra, sprehajala po knjižnici v Univerzitetnem kliničnem centru Ljubljana.
En: On a crisp autumn afternoon, as the leaves gently fell to the ground, creating a rustling carpet, Mateja, a curious nurse, was walking through the library at the University Medical Center Ljubljana.
En: She had always loved detective stories and often spent her short breaks during her shifts among the books.
En: While browsing old books, she found something unusual.
Sl: V stari, prašni knjigi o anatomiji, je zataknjena cvetela beležka.
En: In an old, dusty anatomy book, a note was tucked away.
Sl: Mateja je previdno izvlekla pisskotek papirja.
En: Mateja carefully pulled out the piece of paper.
Sl: Na njem je bil napisan kratek, a vznemirljiv zapis: "Dragocenost družine skrita za oknom, kjer zgodovina spregovori.
En: On it was a short but thrilling message: "A family treasure hidden behind the window, where history speaks."
Sl: " Mateji je srce začelo hitreje biti.
En: Mateja's heart began to beat faster.
Sl: Je bilo to povezano z družinskim dragocenim predmetom, o katerem je slišala zgodbe?
En: Could this be related to the family heirloom she had heard stories about?
Sl: Kolegi na oddelku so njeno navdušenje sprejeli z dvomi in smehom.
En: Her colleagues in the department greeted her excitement with skepticism and laughter.
En: "It's just some old joke, Mateja," said one of the doctors.
Sl: Vendar je Matejo njena radovednost gnala naprej.
En: But her curiosity drove Mateja forward.
Sl: Sama si je mislila: "Verjeti moram v to.
En: She thought to herself, "I have to believe in this.
Sl: Morda je nekaj več.
En: Maybe there's something more."
Sl: "V času odmorov je Mateja previdno raziskovala bolnišnico.
En: During her breaks, Mateja carefully explored the hospital.
En: Her friend, Zdravka, who worked in the archive, finally joined her, albeit doubtful.
Sl: "Dobro, dobro, pogledala bom," je rekla Zdravka, medtem ko sta skupaj prelistavali stare zemljevide in dokumente.
En: "Alright, alright, I'll look," Zdravka said as they flipped through old maps and documents together.
Sl: Njuna iskanja so ju vodila do starega portreta v odmaknjenem, skoraj pozabljenem krilu bolnišnice.
En: Their search led them to an old portrait in a secluded, almost forgotten wing of the hospital.
En: On the back of the painting was another clue.
Sl: Prav ko sta Mateja in Zdravka mislili, da sta blizu konca, ju je presenetil Borut, skeptičen, a zdaj presenetljivo radoveden hišnik.
En: Just when Mateja and Zdravka thought they were nearing the end, they were surprised by Borut, a skeptical yet surprisingly curious janitor.
Sl: "Torej, je to nova detektivska zgodba?
En: "So, is this a new detective story?"
Sl: " je rekel z nasmeškom.
