Sl: Veter, ki je sem ter tja prijetno zavihtel listje po tleh, je napovedoval barvit dan v Tivoliju.
En: The wind, which pleasantly swirled the leaves on the ground here and there, heralded a colorful day in Tivoli.

Sl: Miha je zgodaj zjutraj pripravil košaro za piknik.
En: Miha prepared a picnic basket early in the morning.

Sl: Njegov pogled je pogosto uhajal skozi okno, opazoval oblake na nebu.
En: His gaze often drifted through the window, observing the clouds in the sky.

Sl: Malo je dvomil, ali bo vreme zdržalo, a odločil se je, da bo vseeno odšel.
En: He was a bit doubtful about whether the weather would hold, but he decided to go anyway.

Sl: "Zala, pridi!
En: "Zala, come!"

Sl: " je poklical Miha svojo hčerko.

Sl: "Pogrešal boš veliko zabave," je poskusil Miha prepričati Borisa.
En: "You'll miss out on a lot of fun," Miha tried to persuade Boris.

Sl: Boris je vzdihnil, a na koncu se je vseeno odločil iti z njimi.
En: Boris sighed, but in the end, he decided to go with them.

Sl: Pohodili so po parkovnih poteh, med katerimi so lesketala se drevesa v barvah rjavih, rdečih in zlatih listov.
En: They walked along the park paths, among trees shimmering in colors of brown, red, and gold leaves.

Sl: Sedli so v bližini starega senčnika, kjer so iz košare potegnili sendviče in topel čaj.
En: They sat near an old gazebo, where they pulled sandwiches and warm tea from the basket.

Sl: Medtem ko so klepetali in se smejali, so se na nebu začeli zbirati oblaki.
En: While they chatted and laughed, clouds began to gather in the sky.

Sl: Nebo se je hitro potemnilo, in kmalu so padle prve kaplje dežja.
En: The sky quickly darkened, and soon the first drops of rain fell.

Sl: "Hitro, pod senčnik!
En: "Quick, under the gazebo!"

Sl: Pod senčnikom so sedli skupaj, a nihče ni zinil besede.

Sl: Nenadna tišina je Miho prisilila, da je začel govoriti o tem, kar mu je ležalo na srcu.
