Sk: Na svieže ráno, kedy bolo lístie pokrytá tenkou vrstvou námrazy, Jozef vstal s pocitom ťažoby v srdci.
En: On a crisp morning, when the leaves were covered with a thin layer of frost, Jozef woke up with a heavy feeling in his heart.

Sk: Jesenný vietor nesmierne ochladzoval a slnko len nesmelo vykúkalo spoza hôr.
En: The autumn wind was exceedingly chilly, and the sun was timidly peeking out from behind the mountains.

Sk: Na ich rodinnej farme, usadenej medzi kopcovitými krajinami Slovenska, sa hemžilo úloha pripraviť všetko na každoročný zberný festival.

En: Just a little more would cause those last four rows of carrots and potatoes to disappear under the ice.

Sk: Marta, Jozefova mama, mala voči chladnému vetru minimálny ochranný obal v podobe starého kabáta, ale jej odhodlanie nebolo oslabené.
En: Marta, Jozef's mother, had minimal protection against the cold wind in the form of an old coat, but her determination was unshaken.

Sk: „Synu, musíme to stihnúť.
En: "Son, we have to make it.

Sk: Nemôžeme prísť o celú úrodu,“ povedala s pochopením, no zároveň s tlakom v hlase.
En: We can't lose the entire crop," she said with understanding, yet there was pressure in her voice.

Sk: Jozef bojoval s tým, či udrie na dvere svojho suseda Petra.
En: Jozef struggled with whether to knock on his neighbor Peter's door.

Sk: Peter bol priateľský farmár z vedľajšej usadlosti, s ktorým jeho otec neraz spolupracoval.

Sk: Ale Jozef cítil v sebe pýchu.
En: But Jozef felt pride inside.

Sk: Nechcel, aby sa rozchýrilo, že nie je schopný zvládnuť farmu sám.
En: He didn't want it to spread that he couldn't manage the farm on his own.

Sk: Rozhodol sa pracovať so svojou matkou, aj keď vedel, že to bude náročné.
