Story Transcript:

Lv: Spīdēja saule spilgtā vasaras dienā, kad Emīls atkal devās uz vietu, kuru viņam bija grūti apmeklēt — psihiatrijas nodaļu.
En: The sun was shining on a bright summer day when Emīls once again headed to a place he found difficult to visit — the psychiatric ward.

Lv: Vārti čīkstoši atvērās, un viņš devās pa garo, pelēko gaiteni.
En: The gates creaked open, and he walked down the long, gray corridor.

Lv: Smaržoja pēc dezinfekcijas līdzekļa, un gaisā dūca fluorescējošas gaismas.
En: It smelled of disinfectant, and the fluorescent lights hummed in the air.

Lv: Sienas bija izrotātas ar krāsainām kartiņām un zīmējumiem, bērnu darbiem, kas centās ienest dzīvību klīniskajā vidē.
En: The walls were adorned with colorful cards and drawings, children's works attempting to bring life to the clinical environment.

Lv: Emīls juta nelielu nemieru.
En: Emīls felt a bit anxious.

Lv: Viņš gribēja atrast kādu veidu, kā savienoties ar savu māti Laimu.
En: He wanted to find a way to connect with his mother, Laima.

Lv: Kad viņš nonāca līdz Laimas istabai, viņa sēdēja pie loga un skatījās ārā, it kā meklējot zudušo pasauli.
En: When he reached Laima's room, she was sitting by the window, gazing out as if searching for a lost world.

Lv: Viņas acis, kas reiz dzirksteļoja no enerģijas, tagad bija apātiskas.
En: Her eyes, which once sparkled with energy, were now apathetic.

Lv: Emīls apmetās blakus viņai, cenšoties sajust kaut kādu saikni.
En: Emīls settled next to her, trying to feel some connection.

Lv: "Čau, mammu," viņš klusi iesāka, viņa balss bija piepildīta ar cerību.
En: "Hi, mom," he began quietly, his voice filled with hope.

Lv: "Atceries, kad mēs devāmies uz Jūrmalu?
En: "Do you remember when we went to Jūrmala?

Lv: Kā mums patika peldēties jūrā?
En: How we loved swimming in the sea?"

Lv: " Viņš izņēma dažas ģimenes fotogrāfijas, ko bija atnesis līdzi.
En: He pulled out some family photos he had brought with him.

Lv: Laima paskatījās uz tām, lai gan uz mirkli, šķita, ka viņas interese ir atdzimusies.
En: Laima looked at them, and for a moment, it seemed her interest was rekindled.

Lv: Emīls turpināja, stāstot stāstus no bērnības, kad viņi kopā pavadīja bezrūpīgās vasaras dienās.
En: Emīls continued, telling stories from childhood, when they spent carefree summer days together.

Lv: Tad viņš izvilka bildi, kurā redzama viņu ģimene piknikā pie ezera.
En: Then he pulled out a picture of their family having a picnic by the lake.

Lv: Viss pieci ģimenes locekļi smaida un skaties pret kameras objektīvu.
En: All five family members were smiling and looking at the camera.

Lv: "Redzi, mammu, tas bija, kad mēs bijām pie Cēsis.
En: "See, mom, that was when we were in Cēsis.

Lv: Tev ļoti patika tas suns, kuru satikām uz takas.
En: You really liked that dog we met on the trail."

Lv: " Viņa balss maigi vēsīja, it kā cenšoties saputot aizmirstību projām.
En: His voice gently soothed, as if trying to stir the forgetting away.

Lv: Kaut kas mainījās.
En: Something changed.

Lv: Laima, skatoties uz attēlu, pēkšņi pasmaidīja.
En: Looking at the picture, Laima suddenly smiled.

Lv: Viņa pavērās Emīlam, un viņas acis pirmoreiz atspoguļoja atmiņu.
En: She turned to Emīls, and her eyes for the first time reflected memory.
