Story Transcript:
En: The Tallinna Old Town was covered with golden and red leaves that fell on the rooftops and pavement.
En: The autumn wind swirled the leaves along the narrow streets, creating a fairytale-like atmosphere.
Et: Täpselt sellises miljöös leidis Kerli ürikise ja hämaruses seisva antiikse kaardiga vana raamatut poes.
En: It was exactly in this setting that Kerli found an ancient and dimly lit bookstore with an antique map and old books.
En: Kerli and her brother Toomas were walking along Toompea Street.
Et: Kerli raputas käes oleva tolmuse kaarti.
En: Kerli shook the dusty map in her hand.
Et: "Vaata, Toomas!
En: "Look, Toomas!
Et: Siin on märge mingist salakäigust," ütles Kerli elevusega.
En: There's a note here about some secret passage," said Kerli with excitement.
Et: Toomas tõmbas hinge.
En: Toomas took a breath.
Et: "Ma ei tea, kas see on hea mõte.
En: "I don't know if that's a good idea.
En: What if it's just an old legend or even dangerous?"
Et: küsis Toomas murelikult, kuid järgnes siiski õele.
En: asked Toomas worriedly, but he followed his sister anyway.
En: Kerli had always been adventurous, but Toomas felt it was his duty to be her careful guardian.
Et: Kaart juhatas nad ühe vanalinna kooserdunud keldri juurde, otse Raekoja platsi lähedal.
En: The map led them to an old cellar entrance in the Old Town, right near the Raekoja square.
En: Kerli fearlessly explained that history awaited discovery before them.
Et: "Kujutle, mis saladused on sajandeid maa all peidus olnud," nõustus Kerli üha optimistlikumalt.
En: "Imagine what secrets have been hidden underground for centuries," Kerli agreed, growing more optimistic by the minute.
En: Toomas nodded, ever the responsible one, relying more on his realism than enthusiasm.
En: "Okay, but let's try to do this as safely as possible," said Toomas determinedly.
En: The siblings didn't know that local authorities watched them suspiciously, fearing the risk of a collapse in the underground passages.
En: It was even more complicated because the map was on fragile paper, crumbling and torn.
En: At the moment they found the underground door, officials rushed to stop them.
Et: "Seis!
En: "Stop!
Et: See on ohtlik piirkond!"
En: This is a dangerous area!"
Et: hüüdis üks...
