Story Transcript:
En: The autumn morning in Praha was cold and fragrant with the scent of rain.
Cs: Mlha se plazila nad Vltavou, zatímco slunce pomalu prolézalo mraky.
En: Mist crept over the Vltava, while the sun slowly pushed through the clouds.
Cs: Na Karlově mostě, kde bronzové sochy nábožensky shlížely na procházející davy, šel Lukaš, student historie.
En: On Karlův most, where bronze statues solemnly gazed down on the passing crowds, walked Lukaš, a history student.
Cs: Jeho oči, zvyklé na čtení knih, dnes hledaly něco jiného - dobrodružství.
En: His eyes, accustomed to reading books, were searching for something different today - adventure.
Cs: Lukaš dlouho nemusel čekat.
En: Lukaš didn’t have to wait long.
Cs: Pod jedním z oblouků mostu spatřil kousek papíru přilepený páskou.
En: Under one of the arches of the bridge, he noticed a piece of paper taped up.
Cs: Byl to dopis.
En: It was a letter.
Cs: "Pavouk ve stínu, blíží se hodina. Zůstaň věrný minulosti." Stálo v něm tajuplně.
En: "The spider in the shadow, the hour approaches. Stay true to the past," it mysteriously read.
En: Lukaš felt his blood rush with excitement.
En: “Did you find something, Lukaši?” asked Petr, who approached him with a hot coffee in hand.
Cs: Na Lukaševu tváři viděl jiskru, kterou dobře znal.
En: He saw the spark on Lukaš's face that he knew well.
Cs: „To je jen hloupost. Je to prostě vtip.“
En: “It’s just nonsense. It’s just a joke.”
En: “No, Petře, this is a chance for real adventure!” replied Lukaš.
Cs: Kolem mostu, na lavičce, seděla Klara, kterou Lukaš viděl často kreslit.
En: Around the bridge, on a bench, sat Klara, whom Lukaš often saw sketching.
En: She was quiet, but her eyes were sharp as a pike.
Cs: Zdálo se, že dopis zná.
En: She seemed to recognize the letter.
Cs: „Ty znáš tohle místo, Kláro?“ zeptal se Lukaš, přisedl si a ukázal jí dopis.
En: “Do you know this place, Kláro?” Lukaš asked, sitting down and showing her the letter.
Cs: „Jenom trochu,“ řekla s úsměvem.
En: “Just a little,” she said with a smile.
Cs: „Ale možná znám něco, co by vám pomohlo.“
En: “But perhaps I know something that could help you.”
Cs: Lukaš věděl, že musí věřit svému instinktu.
En: Lukaš knew he had to trust his instincts.
Cs: Rozhodl se.
En: He made a decision.
Cs: On, Petr a Klara budou sledovat stopu dopisu.
En: He, Petr, and Klara would follow the trail of the letter.
Cs: Cesta je vedla skrz staré uličky Prahy, až k osamocené kapli.
En: The path led them through the old streets of Praha, to a secluded chapel.
Cs: Uvnitř kaple byly staré sochy, skryté v temnotě.
En: Inside the chapel were old statues hidden in darkness.
Cs: V rohu tajemného místa našli schránku.
En: In the corner of the mysterious place, they found a box.
Cs: Byla zamčená, ale Klara měla klíč – starý, ornamentovaný.
En: It was locked, but Klara had a key – an old, ornamented one.
