Cs: Světlo zářivek v čekárně bylo neúprosné.
En: The fluorescent light in the waiting room was relentless.

Cs: Bílá místnost byla strohá a neútulná.
En: The white room was stark and unwelcoming.

Cs: Na stole ležely staré časopisy, které nikdo nečetl.
En: Old magazines that nobody read lay on the table.

Cs: Jiří, Klára a Pavel seděli na tvrdých plastikových židlích a čekali na doktora.
En: Jiří, Klára, and Pavel sat on hard plastic chairs and waited for the doctor.

Cs: Pavel se krátce podíval na své sourozence.
En: Pavel briefly looked at his siblings.

Cs: Raději by byl kdekoliv jinde, ale návštěvy u lékaře byly teď jeho nový normál.
En: He would rather be anywhere else, but visits to the doctor were now his new normal.

Cs: Jiří hleděl na strop, přemýšlel o tom, jak začít.
En: Jiří stared at the ceiling, thinking about how to start.

Cs: Potřeboval s nimi mluvit.
En: He needed to talk to them.

Cs: Musel.
En: He had to.

Cs: Cítil tíhu odpovědnosti, ale zároveň věděl, že to nebude jednoduché.

Cs: "Musíme si promluvit," řekl najednou Jiří, hlasem o něco hlasitějším, než zamýšlel.
En: "We need to talk," Jiří said suddenly, in a voice louder than he intended.

Cs: Klara vzhlédla od časopisu.
En: Klara looked up from the magazine.

Cs: "O čem?"
En: "About what?"

Cs: zeptala se s lehkým náznakem odporu v hlase.
En: she asked with a slight hint of resistance in her voice.

Cs: Jiřím se přelil pocit rozpačitosti, ale věděl, že to nesmí vzdát.
En: Jiří felt a surge of awkwardness, but he knew he mustn't give up.

Cs: "O nás.
En: "About us.

Cs: O rodině.
En: About the family.

Cs: O všem, co se děje…" začal Jiří opatrně.
En: About everything that's happening..." Jiří began cautiously.

Cs: "Proč teď?
En: "Why now?

Cs: Tady?"
En: Here?"

Cs: otázala se Klara, tentokrát ostřeji.
En: Klara asked, this time more sharply.

Cs: Pavel odložil ruce do náruče.
En: Pavel folded his hands in his lap.

Cs: Bylo mu nepříjemné poslouchat hádku, ale věděl, že jejich tichá rodinná dynamika už dál nepůjde.
En: He was uncomfortable listening to the argument, but he knew that their silent family dynamic couldn’t go on any longer.

Cs: "Protože nikdy není dobrý čas, ale také není špatný čas řešit to, co nás trápí," pokračoval Jiří.
En: "Because there's never a good time, but there’s also no bad time to address what's troubling us," Jiří continued.

Cs: "Pavlovo zdraví je důležité, ale nejsme tady jen kvůli tomu."
En: "Pavel's health is important, but we're not here just for that."

Cs: Klara polkla.
En: Klara swallowed.

Cs: "Myslíš si, že jsem to nezvládala dobře?
En: "Do you think I didn’t handle it well?

Cs: Že jsem tě nechala na holičkách?"
En: That I left you hanging?"

Cs: vykřikla.
En: she exclaimed.

Cs: Jiří ucítil bolest, když viděl její bolest.
En: Jiří felt pain when he saw her hurt.

Cs: Nechtěl to takto.
En: He didn’t want it to go like this.

Cs: "Ne, Kláro, tak jsem to nemyslel.
En: "No, Klara, that's not what I meant.

Cs: Jenže… jsme rodina.
En: It's just... we're family.
