Story Transcript:
Cs: Na vysočinské květinové farmě vládl klidný podzimní den.
En: On the Vysočina flower farm, it was a calm autumn day.
En: The sun was shining, but the chill could already be felt in the gentle breeze.
En: The leaves on the trees played with colors, and the fields were dotted with pumpkins in various shades of orange.
Cs: Jan kráčel po farmě s jasným cílem.
En: Jan walked across the farm with a clear goal.
Cs: Musel najít tu nejkrásnější dýni na svůj zápraž.
En: He had to find the most beautiful pumpkin for his porch.
Cs: Ale hlavně chtěl udělat dojem na Milenu.
En: But mostly, he wanted to impress Milena.
Cs: Milena, usměvavá a vřelá, pracovala na farmě.
En: Milena, smiling and warm, worked on the farm.
Cs: Zrovna sbírala květiny do košíku.
En: She was just gathering flowers into a basket.
En: Jan knew that the chosen pumpkin could be the perfect way to show her that he was thinking of her.
En: He walked among the pumpkin patches, examining each one carefully until he found the one that he deemed the best in his eyes.
Cs: Byla kulatá, sytě oranžová a zdála se ideální.
En: It was round, deep orange, and seemed ideal.
Cs: Jan se radoval.
En: Jan was delighted.
En: He spun around on the spot, but he didn't realize that the farmer's scarecrow was standing behind him.
Cs: Narazil do něj loktem, a než stihl strašák zkontrolovat, upadl na zem.
En: He bumped into it with his elbow, and before he could check on the scarecrow, it fell to the ground.
Cs: Jan byl překvapený.
En: Jan was surprised.
En: The scarecrow fell apart and caused the nearest pumpkins to slide down the hill like an orange avalanche.
Cs: Jan zadržel dech.
En: Jan held his breath.
En: Milena saw it all, but instead of getting angry, she laughed.
Cs: "Co teď?"
En: "What now?"
Cs: zakřičela směrem k Janovi s veselým úsměvem.
En: she shouted towards Jan with a cheerful smile.
Cs: Jan věděl, že musí strašáka spravit, než přijde někdo další.
En: Jan knew he needed to fix the scarecrow before someone else came along.
Cs: Jan se pustil do práce.
En: Jan got to work.
Cs: Sbíral seno, rovnal košili a pokoušel se postavit strašáka zpátky na nohy sám.
En: He gathered straw, straightened the shirt, and tried to set the scarecrow back on its feet by himself.
En: Milena joined in, helping with all her might.
Cs: Nakonec, po několika pokusech a hodně smíchu, strašák opět stál pevně na svém místě.
En: Finally, after several attempts and a lot of laughter, the scarecrow was standing firmly in its place again.
