Story Transcript:
En: The snow fell silently over the Swedish Lapland cabin where Erik, Lena, and Johan had settled in for the weekend.
Sv: Timmerstugan, inbäddad bland höga granar, verkade nästan förtrollad i vinterlandskapets kyla.
En: The log cabin, nestled among tall firs, seemed almost enchanted in the cold of the winter landscape.
En: The fire crackled cozily in the stove, and the air was filled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and wood.
En: Erik stood by the window and looked out over the white blanket.
Sv: Plötsligt fångade något hans blick.
En: Suddenly, something caught his eye.
Sv: Ett avlångt märke i snön, ett fotavtryck.
En: An elongated mark in the snow, a footprint.
En: But this was no ordinary print, it was large and mysterious, as if a creature from an old tale had left it.
Sv: Det kittlade hans nyfikenhet.
En: It piqued his curiosity.
En: "Come and look," called Erik to Lena and Johan.
En: Lena, who was sitting and solving a crossword puzzle, looked at him doubtfully.
Sv: "Vad är det nu, Erik?"
En: "What is it now, Erik?"
En: Johan sat on the couch, scrolling nonchalantly on his phone.
En: "It's a footprint outside," said Erik excitedly.
En: "I don't think it's from a human."
Sv: Johan skakade på huvudet.
En: Johan shook his head.
En: "Maybe just a big arctic fox or something.
Sv: Inget att bry sig om."
En: Nothing to worry about."
Sv: Erik kände ett sting av frustration.
En: Erik felt a twinge of frustration.
En: Despite his friends' skepticism, he couldn't help himself.
En: Without waiting for a reply, he put on boots, a coat, and a thick hat.
En: "I have to check," he said and opened the door to the icy wind.
En: The snow creaked under his feet as he approached the print.
En: It was almost magical, as big as two palms, with claw-like tips.
En: But the snow was falling heavily now, threatening to cover every trace.
Sv: Erik bestämde sig snabbt.
En: Erik quickly made up his mind.
En: He would follow it while he could.
Sv: "Erik!
En: "Erik!
Sv: Vänta, det är för mycket...
