Sr: Калемегдан је био обасјан првим светлостима пролећа.
En: Kalemegdan was illuminated by the first lights of spring.

Sr: Птице су певале своје песме, а ветар је носио мирис свежих цветова.
En: Birds sang their songs, and the wind carried the scent of fresh flowers.

Sr: Милош, Јелена и Вук су се упутили ка најстаријем делу тврђаве где су се налазила стара породична гробница.
En: Miloš, Jelena, and Vuk were heading towards the oldest part of the fortress where the old family tomb was located.

Sr: "Брзо, пожурите," рече Милош, гледајући у сат.
En: "Quickly, hurry up," said Miloš, looking at his watch.

Sr: "Морамо стићи пре мрака.
En: "We must get there before dark."

Sr: "Јелена је, међутим, била одушевљена више окружењем него временом.
En: Jelena, however, was more enchanted by the surroundings than by the time.

Sr: "Погледајте, тата, они стари зидови изгледају као да крију тајне," рекла је маштовито.
En: "Look, Dad, those old walls seem as if they hide secrets," she said imaginatively.

Sr: Милош је само одмахнуо руком.
En: Miloš just waved his hand.

Sr: "То су само остаци старих времена, ништа више.
En: "They're just remnants of old times, nothing more."

Sr: "Али Вук, с носталгичним сјајем у очима, додаде, "Увек сам волео овде да долазим као дечак.
En: But Vuk, with a nostalgic glow in his eyes, added, "I always loved coming here as a boy.

Sr: Сваки камен као да има причу.
En: Every stone seems to have a story."

Sr: "Док су шетали, Јелена је приметила један мањи, мрачнији пут.
En: As they walked, Jelena noticed a smaller, darker path.

Sr: Осетила је неодољиву жељу да истражи.
En: She felt an irresistible urge to explore.

Sr: "Милоше, идите ви напред.
En: "Miloš, you go ahead.

Sr: Јелена и ја ћемо мало усредсредити на овај део,” предложи Вук, осетивши њен ентузијазам.
En: Jelena and I will focus a bit on this part," Vuk suggested, sensing her enthusiasm.

Sr: Неколико метара дубље у тврђави, Јелена застаде.
En: A few meters deeper into the fortress, Jelena stopped.

Sr: Пред њом је био скривени, стари ковчег.
En: In front of her was a hidden, old chest.

Sr: Њено срце је заиграло.
En: Her heart skipped a beat.

Sr: "Погледај ово, чико Вуче!
En: "Look at this, Uncle Vuke!"

Sr: " узвикну.
En: she exclaimed.

Sr: Док је отварала ковчег, нашли су стару породичну реликвију - медаљон с фотографијом младог пара из прошлости.
En: As she opened the chest, they found an old family relic—a locket with a photograph of a young couple from the past.

Sr: Сузе су се појавиле у очима Вука.
En: Tears appeared in Vuk's eyes.

Sr: "Ово је наш прадеда и прабака", објасни Вук, нежно држећи медаљон.
En: "This is our great-grandfather and great-grandmother," Vuk explained, gently holding the locket.

Sr: "Причао сам ти о њима.
En: "I've told you about them.

Sr: Време је да знаш и ти, Јелена.
En: It's time for you to know, too, Jelena."

Sr: "Милош је у међувремену стигао до њих.
En: In the meantime, Miloš had joined them.

Sr: Гледајући медаљон, застао је.
En: Looking at the locket, he paused.
