Pl: Mateusz leżał na łóżku w szpitalnym pokoju.
En: Mateusz was lying in a bed in the hospital room.

Pl: Przez okno widział drzewa z żółtymi i czerwonymi liśćmi.
En: Through the window, he saw trees with yellow and red leaves.

Pl: Była jesień, a świat za oknem przypominał mu o rzeczach, których teraz nie mógł robić.
En: It was autumn, and the world outside the window reminded him of the things he couldn't do now.

Pl: Przeszedł operację kolana po kontuzji, którą odniósł podczas gry w piłkę nożną.
En: He had undergone knee surgery after an injury he sustained while playing soccer.

Pl: Tęsknił za boiskiem, za rywalizacją z przyjaciółmi, za zapachem świeżo skoszonej trawy.
En: He missed the field, the competition with friends, the smell of freshly cut grass.

Pl: "Agnieszka, kiedy będę mógł wrócić do grania?"
En: "Agnieszka, when will I be able to return to playing?"

Pl: pytał codziennie swoją przyjaciółkę, która przychodziła go odwiedzać z Piotrem.
En: he asked his friend every day, who came to visit him with Piotr.

Pl: "Mateusz, musisz być cierpliwy," odpowiadała Agnieszka.
En: "Mateusz, you have to be patient," Agnieszka replied.

Pl: "Lekarze wiedzą, co robią.
En: "The doctors know what they're doing.

Pl: Nie spiesz się."
En: Don't rush it."

Pl: Mateusz jednak nie chciał słuchać.
En: However, Mateusz didn't want to listen.

Pl: Czuł się zdesperowany.
En: He felt desperate.

Pl: Nie mógł czekać.
En: He couldn't wait.

Pl: Wiedząc, że piłka jest jego pasją, postanowił ćwiczyć więcej, niż zalecał lekarz.
En: Knowing that soccer was his passion, he decided to train more than the doctor recommended.

Pl: Każdego dnia, kiedy nikt nie widział, robił dodatkowe ćwiczenia, próbując się szybciej wzmocnić.
En: Every day, when no one was watching, he did additional exercises, trying to strengthen himself faster.

Pl: Pewnego dnia podczas jednej z takich prywatnych sesji, Mateusz poczuł nagle silny ból w kolanie.
En: One day during one of these private sessions, Mateusz suddenly felt intense pain in his knee.

Pl: Musiał przestać.
En: He had to stop.

Pl: Z trudem dotarł do łóżka, gdzie upadł, pełen żalu.
En: With difficulty, he made it back to the bed, where he fell, full of regret.

Pl: Wiedział, że przesadził.
En: He knew he had overdone it.

Pl: Piotr, który akurat przyjechał w odwiedziny, zmartwiony widokiem przyjaciela, natychmiast wezwał pomoc.
En: Piotr, who happened to arrive for a visit, worried about the sight of his friend, immediately called for help.

Pl: "Dlaczego nie słuchałeś rad terapeutów?"
En: "Why didn't you listen to the therapists' advice?"

Pl: zapytał z troską w głosie.
En: Piotr asked with concern in his voice.

Pl: Mateusz, leżąc ze łzami w oczach, zrozumiał wtedy, że jego pośpiech mógł zaprzepaścić szanse na powrót na boisko.
En: Lying there with tears in his eyes, Mateusz realized then that his haste might have ruined his chances to return to the field.

Pl: "Chciałem być szybciej na boisku", wyznał Mateusz.
En: "I wanted to be on the field sooner," Mateusz confessed.

Pl: "Ale teraz widzę, że muszę dbać o siebie.
En: "But now I see that I must take care of myself.

Pl: Muszę być cierpliwy."
En: I must be patient."

Pl: Z czasem Mateusz nauczył się...
