Story Transcript:

El: Το καλοκαίρι είχε φτάσει.
En: Summer had arrived.

El: Στο λύκειο της Κέρκυρας, οι τελειόφοιτοι φορούσαν τις γαλάζιες τήβεννους και τα καπελάκια τους.
En: At the high school in Kerkyra, the graduates wore their light blue gowns and caps.

El: Στην αίθουσα τελετών, οι συγγενείς και οι καθηγητές κοιτούσαν με περηφάνια.
En: In the auditorium, relatives and teachers watched with pride.

El: Από τα μεγάλα παράθυρα έμπαινε ο χρυσαφένιος ήλιος, φωτίζοντας τη σκηνή.
En: The golden sun streamed in through the large windows, illuminating the stage.

El: Ο Αλέξιος καθόταν στο πίσω μέρος της αίθουσας.
En: Alexios sat at the back of the room.

En: The thought filled him with panic.

El: Φοβόταν το κοινό, τις χιλιάδες βλέμματα πάνω του, τον πιθανό χλευασμό αν έκανε λάθος.
En: He feared the audience, the thousands of eyes on him, the potential ridicule if he made a mistake.

El: Η φίλη του, η Κατερίνα, του χαμογέλασε σε υποστήριξη.
En: His friend, Katerina, smiled at him supportively.

En: He began to speak, but his voice trembled.

El: Οι λέξεις έβγαιναν ασύνδετες.
En: The words came out disjointed.

El: Ξαφνικά, σήκωσε το βλέμμα του και είδε την Κατερίνα και τον Ανδρέα να του χαμογελούν τρυφερά.
En: Suddenly, he lifted his gaze and saw Katerina and Andreas smiling at him tenderly.

El: Κάτι άναψε μέσα του.
En: Something ignited inside him.

El: «Θυμάμαι την πρώτη μέρα στο λύκειο,» είπε.
En: "I remember the first day of high school," he said.

El: «Ένας φόβος με διακατείχε.
En: "I was engulfed by fear.

El: Όμως βρήκα φίλους που πίστεψαν σε μένα.
