Ca: A la platja de la Barceloneta, Oriol observava el mar.
En: At la platja de la Barceloneta, Oriol was observing the sea.

Ca: Les onades eren suaus, i la sorra, d'un daurat brillant.
En: The waves were gentle, and the sand had a bright golden hue.

Ca: Aquell dia, Oriol volia trobar tranquil·litat.
En: That day, Oriol wanted to find tranquility.

Ca: Era una tarda de tardor, i l'aire fresc havia portat molts caminadors a la platja.
En: It was an autumn afternoon, and the fresh air had brought many walkers to the beach.

Ca: Entre ells, Laia, la seva amiga de fa anys, i Pere, el pescador que coneixia cada racó de la costa.

Ca: —No ho sé... —va dir amb veu feble, assenyalant les seves mans inflamades.
En: —I don't know... —he said weakly, pointing to his inflamed hands.

Ca: Sense perdre temps, Laia va buscar a la seva bossa.
En: Without wasting time, Laia searched her bag.

Ca: Sempre porta una petita farmaciola.
En: She always carries a small first aid kit.

Ca: Va trobar un antihistamínic i el va oferir a Oriol.
En: She found an antihistamine and offered it to Oriol.

Ca: Mentre Oriol prenia el medicament, Pere observava des de la seva barca.
En: While Oriol took the medication, Pere watched from his boat.

Ca: Ell desitjava ajudar, però les seves aventures solitari el van mantenir a distància.
