Christian Nationalism vs. Two Kingdoms: Who Has It Right?

What authority does civil government actually have under God? And where do Christian nationalism, two-kingdom theology, and natural law fit into the discussion?

On this episode of The Magistrate, Josh Howard and James Baird revisit James's debate with Levi Secord, hosted by Christ Overall, and examine some of the most important disagreements in contemporary Christian political theology.

From the relationship between Scripture and natural law to blasphemy laws, civil justice, COVID restrictions, and the Ten Commandments, Josh and James explore the biblical and philosophical foundations of government.

They also discuss the value of formal debate, the importance of cross-examination, and the differences between modern two-kingdom theology and classical Protestant political thought.

Can Christians disagree about the magistrate's authority while remaining committed to the Lordship of Christ over every sphere of life?
