#7 The Great Tribulation Already Happened? | Matthew 24:21

Did Jesus teach that the Great Tribulation is still future, or was He describing events that took place in the first century?

In this episode, Matt Plett examines Matthew 24:21 and the commonly misunderstood phrase "great tribulation."

Rather than pointing to a future end-times event, Matt argues that Jesus was speaking about the coming judgment upon Jerusalem that culminated in A.D. 70.

By examining the context of Matthew 23–24, Jesus' confrontation with the Pharisees, and His repeated references to "this generation," this teaching explores how the Great Tribulation marked the end of the old covenant age and the destruction of the temple.

What did Jesus actually mean—and does Matthew 24 describe our future or Israel's past?
