You Shall Not Bear False Witness

The Ninth Commandment calls you to more than simply avoiding lies—it challenges how you speak about others, judge their motives, and handle their reputations. Because God is truth, you are called to love truth, resist gossip and slander, and use your words to protect and build up your neighbor rather than tear them down. Examine not only whether your words are technically true, but also whether your motives and purposes honor God. Remember Christ, who endured false accusations for your salvation, and let His grace shape you into someone whose words reflect truth, love, and grace.
