US Catholic Bishops Elect New Leader

On November eleventh, the U.S. Catholic bishops will elect their next president and vice president in Baltimore. With half of the ten candidates from the conservative wing, the vote reflects the conferences split dynamics. Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City is a strong contender, while others like Archbishop Charles Thompson and Bishop Daniel Flores are seen as potential bridge-builders. The bishops will also discuss immigration, an issue where even the most conservative leaders often stand with migrants. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network.
