Two Men Taken Down in Raleigh Bar | Durham News

Two patrons over 21 were taken down by deputies inside Raleigh’s Alchemy bar—caught on video, sparking debate over force used. Though neither was charged, the incident in Glenwood South reignites tensions over safety and enforcement in a neighborhood the city’s trying to clean up. The ABC chief says the confrontation was justified after one patron refused ID and escalated by bumping an officer, while the bar owner calls the response excessive. Sheriff’s Office is reviewing footage, and city leaders are now considering more patrols and a joint task force to tackle ongoing issues.
