Trump Endorses Paxton Amid Legal Scrutiny | Durham News

Trump’s wild public jabs at Texas AG Ken Paxton—calling him unattractive but then endorsing him for Senate—highlight a high-stakes race where Paxton, facing Democrat James Talarico, is riding Trump’s coattails with massive outside cash infusions. Trump’s MAGA Inc. and Elon Musk-linked groups are pouring tens of millions into the race, while Paxton’s own campaign trails far behind, relying heavily on super PACs. A win could solidify Trump’s political influence in Texas, a state that hasn’t elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1988. But with Paxton’s legal baggage and Talarico’s fundraising advantage, the race is tight—and Republican leaders are urging Trump to spend even more.
