🚨 Attention food enthusiasts! 🚨On November 4th, health departments in the Triangle area conducted 170 restaurant inspections. While most establishments passed with flying colors, two restaurants, Glasshouse Kitchen in Durham County and Flippin' Wings in Johnston County, received B grades and had concerning violations.Glasshouse Kitchen had 21 violations, including raw beef stored above cheese, raw oysters above ready-to-eat foods, and a staff member working without hair restraints. Moldy surfaces were also found behind the cooking line and in the dishwashing area.Flippin' Wings had 11 violations, with the most alarming being the presence of live roaches. Inspectors also observed food spills, debris, and buildup on equipment, along with a strong odor from a utility sink that wasn't draining properly. These inspections are part of North Carolina's system to prevent foodborne illnesses, with letter grades displayed publicly to inform diners. While many restaurants maintain excellent standards, these recent findings highlight the importance of regular checks to ensure public safety.Officials are closely monitoring these establishments, and re-inspections will be conducted to ensure all issues are addressed and corrected.
