Texas Flood: Desperate 911 Calls from Camp Mystic

Newly released 911 calls from the devastating Texas Hill Country floods in July 2022 reveal harrowing accounts of desperate pleas for help. Over 400 calls flooded emergency dispatchers as residents and camp staff, like those at Camp Mystic, were trapped in attics and on rooftops. The floods claimed 136 lives, with 117 in Kerr County alone. Calls included a firefighter watching his wife swept away, a family breaking through their roof for rescue, and a woman from an all-girls camp unsure how to escape. The audio is unsettling, with some calls from individuals who did not survive, like firefighter Bradley Perry. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city.
