Stowe Rescue Warns of Backcountry Dangers

Stowe Mountain Rescue reports a surge in rescue missions due to inexperienced skiers venturing into the backcountry, inspired by social media. The team, which used to handle around three missions per season five years ago, now responds to about eight. Recently, they rescued two nineteen-year-olds from New York who got lost following TikTok videos. The team plans to create educational social media content to promote safe backcountry exploration.
