Southport Cares Raises $242K for Mass Shooting Victims

Southport Cares, a local non-profit, has raised over $242,000 for victims of a tragic mass shooting in September, distributing nearly $233,000 to 34 families, wounded patrons, and employees. The organization, founded by first responders, aims to provide not just financial aid, but also emotional support, with 100% of proceeds going directly to victims. They plan to finalize fundraisers and deliver the last checks by the end of November, while continuing their original mission to assist Southport community members. DNN | The Daily News Now!
