Sheriff Roberson to Run for Commissioner

Chatham County Sheriff Mike Roberson, after a decade-long tenure, has decided not to seek re-election in 2026. Instead, hes running for a seat on the Chatham County Board of Commissioners. Roberson, whos been appointed and elected as sheriff, is known for his forty years of public safety experience. Hes endorsed Chief Deputy Steve Maynor to succeed him, citing Maynors community ties and leadership skills.
