Sex Offender Arrested at School, System Stops Him

Garner Police arrest a registered sex offender, Mariano Navarro, for illegally being on Garner Magnet High School campus. Navarro, a parent, was flagged by the schools visitor management system, which scans databases including the national sex offender registry. This incident underscores the systems effectiveness, having flagged three confirmed sex offenders last year out of one million visitors. The system, purchased with a state school safety grant, played a crucial role in ensuring student safety. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city.
