Roethlisberger Weighs In on Tomlin's Future

Mike Tomlins Future with the Pittsburgh Steelers: A Shifting Tide of OpinionMike Tomlin, the long-standing head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is grappling with growing uncertainty about his future with the team. This comes amidst a series of setbacks, including a recent defeat to the Buffalo Bills, which was met with fan disapproval. Tomlin, who has been with the Steelers since 2007 and holds the NFL record for the longest-tenured head coach, is facing calls for change.Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who spent his entire eighteen-year career under Tomlin, recently shared his thoughts on the matter during his podcast. He suggested that a fresh start could be advantageous for both the team and Tomlin. Roethlisberger even proposed the idea of Tomlin transitioning to college football, specifically at Penn State, where he believes Tomlins coaching and recruiting skills could lead to national championships. However, not everyone shares Roethlisbergers view. Another former Steeler, James Harrison, offered a more critical perspective, describing Tomlin as a good coach rather than a great one. Despite the teams six-and-six record this season, with three losses in their last four games, Tomlin remains committed to improving the teams disciplined play, acknowledging the need to rectify recent mistakes. The conversation surrounding Tomlins future underscores the high standards in Pittsburgh, even for a coach who has never had a losing season and led the team to a Super Bowl victory in his second year.
