Melissa King, born in Whittier, California to Hong Kong immigrants, rose to fame as the winner of Top Chef season seventeen. Her unique blend of California and Asian flavors, inspired by her childhood, led her to work at Michelin-star restaurants and earn degrees in cognitive science and culinary arts. Post-Top Chef, she launched her own company, King Sauce, and authored a cookbook.
