Matthew Mayich’s Battle Against Heat Stroke | Durham News

Arizona State hockey star Matthew Mayich, 21, collapsed during a brutal outdoor training session in August and has remained in a coma with zero chance of recovery — doctors blame heat stroke, not heart issues. His parents, devastated but hopeful, say he’s a fighter and urge compassion for his teammates who witnessed the tragedy. The ASU Police are investigating the incident, while Matthew’s girlfriend Alexa is hailed as a beacon of support. The family is rallying prayers and gratitude from fans, taking each day as it comes, anchored by faith and love.
