Katherine Stinson: Skywriter, Pilot, Architect

Seventh grader Raffi Paglayan uncovers the inspiring life of Katherine Stinson Otero, a trailblazing skywriter and early female pilot, who later became a renowned architect. This discovery is part of the New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program, which has placed nearly one hundred roadside markers across the state, celebrating significant women connected to New Mexico. The program, initiated in the 1980s by Pat French, aims to introduce New Mexicans to the rich history of womens achievements. In 2022, the program expanded its mission by developing a school curriculum based on its research, ensuring these vital stories reach all students. DNN | The Daily News Now!
