Kara Lawson's Journey: From Shy Student to Coaching Greatness

Kara Lawsons journey to coaching greatness, from a shy college student to the head coach at Duke University and Team USA, was significantly shaped by her mentor, Pat Summitt. Summitt pushed Lawson out of her comfort zone, including enrolling her in a public speaking class, which Lawson initially resented. However, these experiences proved invaluable, as Lawsons communication skills, once a weakness, became a major strength. Her motivational speeches at Duke practices have gone viral, and she now leads a storied program, embodying the power of mentorship and perseverance. DNN | The Daily News Now!
