Higgins Wins Miami Mayoral Race, Defying Trump

Democrat Eileen Higgins has made history by winning the Miami mayoral race, a significant upset for former President Donald Trump who endorsed her opponent. Higgins, the citys first female mayor in nearly thirty years, secured a decisive victory and plans to explore legal avenues to unwind an immigration enforcement agreement, criticizing Trumps policies. She has observed a shift in voter sentiment, with growing frustration and fear concerning immigration. Higgins could join opposition to Trumps presidential library and has expressed concerns about a proposed land donation for the library. Looking ahead, Miami will host the G20 summit next year, and Higgins is not scared of potential retaliation from Trump. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network.
