Dana Williamson, former aide to Governor Gavin Newsom, indicted on federal charges for allegedly stealing campaign money from Xavier Becerra. Shes accused of working with Sean McCluskie, Becerras former chief of staff, to bill Becerras campaign account for services. The money was then allegedly sent to McCluskies wife. Williamson faces 23 charges, including conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. If convicted, she could face up to 20 years in prison.
