Cat Weight Loss Study: Okava's GLP-one Implant
Okava Pharmaceuticals, a San Francisco-based biopharmaceutical company, is pioneering a new approach to pet health with their clinical study, MEOW-one. This trial aims to use GLP-one weight loss drugs for cats, delivered via a miniature implant for up to six months. The study, which could enroll up to fifty cats, seeks to reduce the health risks associated with obesity in felines, such as diabetes and joint pain. Okava plans to use exenatide, a different GLP-one ingredient, and hopes to extend their research to dogs after the cat study. Pet owners can expect their cats to become less interested in food, more active, and healthier overall. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city. Every story.
