Arrest in Death of Tasia Fortune | Durham News

A Mississippi man, Jarques Ratliff, has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 29-year-old Tasia Fortune, a Black mother of four found hanging from a tree in Jackson. Her mother, Christy Spivey, confirmed the arrest and expressed gratitude to police while insisting her daughter would never have taken her own life. The investigation continues, with more arrests possible, as authorities seek to uncover the motive behind this tragic case. Spivey, still reeling from shock and disbelief, vows to keep Tasia’s memory alive and demand justice for her daughter’s life cut short by violence and systemic struggles.
