Apex Council Approves Veridea Project, Traffic Concerns Addressed

The Apex Town Council, led by Mayor Gilbert, has approved public hearings for the Veridea project and North Carolina Childrens Hospital, marking a significant step forward for the large-scale development. The Veridea site, a sprawling 1,100-acre area, is set to become a vibrant mix of shops, restaurants, homes, hotels, and office spaces. Key additions include a 25,000 square foot indoor recreation center and a regional bus transit center. However, concerns about rapid growth and its impact on existing infrastructure, particularly traffic congestion on North Carolina Highway Fifty-Five, have been raised by some residents. Mayor Gilbert acknowledges these concerns and emphasizes the ongoing commitment to working with the Department of Transportation to address these issues. DNN | The Daily News Now!
