Ambulance Hijacking, Murder: Repeat Offender's Rampage
In Robeson County, North Carolina, a tragic shooting resulted in the death of a 74-year-old woman. The incident began when emergency medical services responded to a call, and a 36-year-old man, Cheyenne D. Woods, allegedly pulled out a firearm, assaulted two EMS workers, took control of the ambulance, and crashed it into another vehicle driven by Marie Locklear. Locklear was shot by Woods before he fled the scene. She was rushed to a hospital but sadly passed away later. Woods was arrested near the scene and faces serious charges, including first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault on emergency personnel, and several firearm-related offenses. Sheriff Burnis Wilkins described the event as a senseless act of murder, emphasizing the dangers of not keeping known violent individuals incarcerated. DNN | The Daily News Now!
