Air Travel Chaos: 3,700 Flights Canceled Due to Government Shutdown

Air Travel Chaos: Thousands of Flights Canceled Due to Government ShutdownThe Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) canceled over 3,700 flights across the US since Friday, causing significant disruptions for thousands of air travelers. The cancellation surge was a result of the FAA limiting capacity at 40 major airports due to staffing shortages caused by the longest government shutdown in American history. By Sunday, over 1,100 flights were grounded, with over 6,400 delays, surpassing Fridays 1,024 cancellations. The FAA chose not to cut international flights due to international agreements. The ongoing situation highlights the importance of a fully staffed and operational air traffic control system for smooth air travel. DNN | The Daily News Now!
