Ein bayerischer Artillerie-Unteroffizier baute das erste deutsche Unterseeboot. "Brandtaucher" nannte Wilhelm Bauer sein gusseisernes Gefährt, mit dem er am 1. Februar 1851 die erste Testfahrt unternahm. Autor: Florian Hildebrand
