Night Watch: Meredith Kercher’s Death: Beyond the Amanda Knox Frenzy

Sixteen years ago today, Amanda Knox was first convicted in the murder of her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, and the world focused almost entirely on the “Foxy Knoxy” story. Tonight, Katie steps back into that case to center Meredith, unpacks how a rushed and chaotic investigation turned Knox and her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, into tabloid villains, and looks closely at the third person in the room, Rudy Guede. Guede’s DNA was everywhere at the crime scene, but he largely escaped global scrutiny. With Guede now back on trial after his ex accused him of beating and SAing her, and the original prosecutor pushing a new theory about another woman involved, Katie breaks down what the evidence really showed, what courts later admitted went wrong, and how a Hulu show thrust Meredith’s death back into the spotlight.
