Night Watch: Dustin Kjersem: The Lie that Bought His Killer Time

A camper was found dead inside his tent along a remote stretch of road in Montana in October of 2024. The injuries were so severe that the first 911 call described the scene as a possible bear attack. But investigators quickly realized something didn’t add up. In this episode of Night Watch, Katie Ring examines the killing of 35-year-old Dustin Kjersem, tracing the final hours of his life and the chilling discovery that the violence inside the tent wasn’t caused by wildlife, but by a man he had shared drinks with the night before. What began as a quiet camping trip ended in a brutal crime — and a case that shocked even seasoned investigators.
