Cognitive Decline

Let's start with communication. Observations from 2024 indicate a noticeable increase in public verbal slips and what some observers interpret as cognitive stumbles from Mr. Trump, especially when compared to his appearances in 2016 and 2020. Linguistic analyses have pointed to significant shifts in his speech patterns. Researchers found more short sentences, increased repetition, and extended digressions. There's also been a reported 29% drop in 'Idea Density' and a 38% rise in 'tangentiality and derailment' from 1984 to 2024. Examples include confusing prominent figures like Nikki Haley for Nancy Pelosi, and referring to Barack Obama instead of Joe Biden. His rally speeches have also nearly doubled in length since 2016, now averaging around 82 minutes, often described as rambling or "word salad" diatribes. While these observations raise questions, it's crucial to remember that cognitive decline cannot be officially diagnosed solely from public appearances.
