Watson Takes Blame After Rough Debut | Cleveland Browns News

The Browns’ season opener ended in a brutal 34-10 loss to the Jaguars, with Deshaun Watson under center for the first time in nearly two years. The offense sputtered, trailing by 24 at halftime, and Watson took full accountability, stressing his responsibility to lead scoring drives. Offensive coordinator Todd Monken offered support, blaming poor execution and play-calling—not just Watson—and hinted he’d review film before deciding on the starter for next week. With only five first-half first downs and five sacks on Watson, Cleveland’s offense looked lost. Now, they turn their focus to Week Two against Tampa Bay, hoping to find rhythm and secure their first win of the season.
