Watson’s Quiet Push for Wins | Cleveland Browns News

Deshaun Watson is shutting down the narrative that he must throw for 400 yards and multiple touchdowns every game, calling media expectations unrealistic after a brutal 34-10 loss. He’s laser-focused on winning, not stats — completing just 16 of 22 passes with one TD and an interception in his debut, including a late score to rookie Denzel Boston that came too little, too late. The Browns’ offense struggled with execution and communication under their new system, and Watson admits they need to get sharper in huddles and reads. While the spotlight also shines on Baker Mayfield — now thriving in Tampa Bay after Cleveland traded big assets for Watson — Watson respects his former QB but says his mind is solely on beating the Buccaneers. The team’s mantra? One game at a time, week by week.
