Joe Thomas on Losing with the Browns | Cleveland Browns News

Joe Thomas, Hall of Fame offensive lineman and Browns legend, opened up at the groundbreaking for Huntington Bank Field about his decade-long battle with heartbreak and hope — how he convinced himself every year the Browns were Super Bowl contenders, even as they kept losing. After playing what he called a perfect game only to lose by 30 points, he broke down in tears, realizing no amount of individual excellence could change the team’s fate. With 11 seasons, one winning record, and zero Super Bowl rings, his story is a raw, relatable tale of sacrifice, resilience, and the crushing weight of rooting for a team that never quite delivered — even when you’re the best at your job.
