Public Sector Pay Talks To Begin At WRC

The Taoiseach says differences between the Government and trade unions will have to be ironed out during talks on a new public sector pay deal. Negotiations get underway at the Workplace Relations Commission today, following last week's strike involving 300 thousand workers. A further strike planned for Wednesday has been suspended to allow talks to take place. Micheál Martin says both sides will put forward their positions. To discuss what workers are looking for from these negotiations, Alan Morrissey has been speaking with Gareth Heagney, Clare INTO Representative and Principal of Sixmilebridge National School, and Orla Considine, a Clare-based paramedic and MidWest representative on the Irish Ambulance Representative Council.
