The ongoing public sector pay dispute will be debated in the Dáil today, following yesterday's nationwide strike involving more than 300 thousand workers. A Labour motion is calling on the Government to negotiate in good faith with unions and deliver pay increases that at least match inflation. The leaders of Fórsa, SIPTU, the INMO and the INTO are due to meet today to discuss 'next steps'. Labour's Finance spokesperson, Ged Nash, warns that unless there's a substantial new pay offer, workers will be back on the picket lines next Wednesday. Joining Alan Morrissey to discuss the issue was Timmy Dooley, Tulla-based Fianna Fáil Minister of State. Photo (c) shotbydave from Getty Images Signature via Canva
