Fuel prices, carbon tax and the wider cost-of-living crisis were to the fore at a public meeting in Moate last night, attended by people from across the country, including farmers, hauliers and business owners. The meeting was organised by those involved in April’s fuel protests, with organisers warning that people could return to the roads if the Government doesn’t act. Cathal O’Donoghue, of C&C Executive Travel in Clare, was at last night’s meeting and was also involved in the April protests. We're going to speak to Cathal very shortly, but let's first hear from the Taoiseach, who was in Ennis on Sunday for the annual De Valera commemoration. When questioned on the possibility of further fuel protests, Micháel Martin reassured that a wide range of measures aimed at alleviating pressure on families will be announced in Budget 2027. Speaking in Ennis, Taoiseach Micháel Martin says the Government acknowledges the impact the fuel crisis has had on families. Alan Morrissey spoke with Cathal O'Donoghue to learn more.
